Witten Pond is comprised of three vacation home rentals on a 15-acre owner-estate, which is bordered by the forever-wild Catskill State Forest Preserve and New York City protected Wittenberg Stream.

» The original home, circa 1910, our recently restored Lily-of-the-Valley, is about charm, history, antiques, and as some say, magic.

» The second, Witten Gatehouse, is a small barn built in 1925 for Lily-of-the-Valley. It is now a contemporary abode with newer renovations, including a fully equipped modern kitchen and a walk-in spa-style bathroom.

» The third, Witten Barn, is an architectural feat of merging old and new architecture with elegance, luxury, artisan features such as a handmade Tuscan fireplace and local bluestone bathtub … and so much more.

LILY-OF-THE-VALLEY
Lily-of-the-Valley is a restored circa 1910 chestnut post and beam hunting lodge. A huge loft-style bedroom/library occupies the entire second floor, which looks out on Witten Pond, Wittenberg Stream and the high Catskill peaks. Large windows and skylights abound for superb light all day and star gazing at night as one falls asleep to the lull of the rushing waters of the Wittenberg Stream.

The first floor has a master bath with claw foot tub and hand-held European shower; a living room with wood burning stream-stone fireplace; and a country kitchen with bluestone counters. Lily has covered porches on three sides, which allow for sitting outdoors while raining, snowing, or enjoying a mid-summer’s eve. There is a sitting area in the back yard, which faces the State Forest, with a wood burning Tuscan grill, teak sitting benches, gardens, and picnic table overlooking Witten Pond.

Lily is a lovingly restored historic home furnished with antiques, fine art, and in contemplative comfort with the incredible nature, wild life as well as cultural richness of the Hudson Valley at your fingertips. It is a romantic vacation home rental and a true home-of-the-heart.

OTHER AMENITIES
Lily-of-the-Valley receives good cellular service and has FREE Wi-Fi! Swimming (at guest risk) and fishing (catch-and-release) are permitted in Witten Pond. Wittenberg Stream, a classic trout stream, is just across the road. There is our Tiny House Sauna, which resides on the north side of the Pond and is available for private use on a first come, first serve basis. Of course privacy is insisted upon and respected, so reservation times are based on half-day (6 hour) time slots.
