Cimavilla Reviews

One of the Highlights of Our Trip!

Our stay at Cimavilla was one of the highlights of our 7-week Europe trip! The ancient village of Soazza, nestled against the Alps, was beautiful, cozy, comfortable, and intimate. We ate at the San Martino restaurant nearly every day, making friends with Manuela and seeing our neighbors frequently. We waved to and spoke with neighbors, saw sheep being taken for sheering, and viewed the town and the valley from the height of the historic San Martino church. We traveled to nearby towns and villages; entered castles at Mesocco and Bellinzona, restaurant grottos outside Soazza and to the south. We were awed by the church at Zillis-Reischen as well as the Via Mala Gorge. We ate lots of pizza, but other delectable meals as well.

The apartments were clean, well-appointed, and welcoming. The shower proved to be one of the best on our trip! We would love to go back to Soazza sometime! We would recommend Cimavilla… without hesitation…to those who would appreciate the charm of village life.

A Place of Peace and Repose

Cimavilla is uniquely a place of peace and repose, a gorgeous melding of contemporary and ancient elements. We think the reconstruction is marvelous. One can see the love the owner invested in it.

We loved Soazza with its old washing stations with water from the glaciers and both churches and the people.

Leaving is difficult, and we hope to return.

Could Not Have Asked for a Better Time

We could not have asked for a better time. The Cimavilla apartments, the Village of Soazza, the Swiss Italian hospitality, and the landscape made for a fantastic trip. Thank you so much. We are so grateful for the time away and the chance to enjoy the Swiss countryside.

We visited Bellinzona, walked to all of the castles, and hiked up the Alp behind Soazza. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and we almost made it to the top except that we ran into snow and decided to turn around.

Had some of THE BEST meat and cheese from the region and a lovely picnic next to an old mountain rustic ruin. At night we ate at the pizzeria in Soazza, which was also very good. Before driving back to Bern, we went to Lugano where it was so nice to spend time in the sunshine and at the lake. What a special thing for you to have preserved a house with so much history. Soazza is lucky to have you!
